Mechanism of Health Effects Research Group

The overall objective of this research group is to provide a scientific basis and technological means to help understand how certain diseases are induced by exposure to chemical substances and other hazardous factors in the workplace. Most research is based on laboratory experiments, which focus on the mechanisms of poisoning due to chemical substances, including the interaction with individual traits of workers, such as age, sex and various genetic factors. Another objective is the development of biomarkers, such as monitoring tools for the early detection of hazard exposure and adverse health effects.
